MysTech
Description:
MysTech aims to foster from Anthroposophy an understanding of humanity's moral relationship with technology, to achieve the goal of Mechanical Occultism as set out by Rudolf Steiner. MysTech seeks to generate the necessary counterbalances for humanity's future evolution with technology. We consider „our duty“ to be similar to this quote by Rudolf Steiner, “In such situations the will is there to harness human energy to mechanical energy. These things should not be treated by fighting against them. That is a completely false view. These things will not fail to appear; they will come. What we are concerned with is whether, in the course of world history, they are entrusted to people who are familiar in a selfless way with the great aims of earthly evolution and who structure these things for the health of human beings or whether they are enacted by groups of human beings who exploit these things in an egotistical or in a group-egotistical sense. That is what matters. It is not a question of the what in this case; the what is sure to come. It is a question of the how, how one tackles these situations. The what lies simply in the meaning of earthly evolution. The welding together of Man with Machine will be a problem of great significance for the remainder of earthly evolution.“ — Rudolf Steiner, Individual Spirit Beings and the Undivided Foundation of the World: Part 3, 25 Nov 1917, Dornach, GA 178
I am looking for:
MysTech is approaching the point where it can sustain a research and development phase. The outcome of such R&D should demonstrate how a machine could respond to purely a moral impulse. Such a prototype could be useful as a type of bio-feedback machine for self-development. Eventually, this detection mechanism could be important for prostheses. MysTech will soon need to organise itself as a 501c3 (non-profit) organisation, put together a board, and hire a researcher and laboratory space. MysTech seeks to collaborate with other organisations that are also exploring similar themes such as „Strader“ machines, „etheric“ technology, and Anthroposophically-inspired technology.
I offer:
MysTech holds an annual conference each August when the Perseid meteor showers are reaching their peak (6-9 in 2026). Our theme for 2026 will be Becoming Aware of the Etheric. In 2025, it was Facing the Incarnation of Ahriman. Previous themes have been on Cymatics and Sound, Light and Electricity, and more that can be found on our website MysTech.org. About 500 people registered to listen to 16 speakers from around the world offering from their research different views about this incarnation (or incorporation), how to face it, and what counterbalances are needed. MysTech continues to offer monthly webinars, typically on a Sunday, on various themes. In addition, three times each year, starting in September, January, and April, MysTech offers free, online, 12-week study groups based on the work of Rudolf Steiner that pertain to technology. There are now nine different courses, each with their own 500-page study guidebook. Hundreds of people participate from around the world in these activities.
